The artist

Portraits of the people I know.

I am a Congolese (DRC) visual artist based in Melbourne, working in oil, acrylic and photography. I paint the people and communities I belong to in saturated, unapologetic colour. I grew up watching African communities get represented one way while living another: with humour, style, tenderness and defiance. My work closes that gap.
